Head of Customer, Distribution & Market Management (Commercial Insurance)

Job Summary

  • Zurich is a leading global insurer in Hong Kong with a distinguished, multi-line proposition for corporate and commercial clients 
  • As the Head of Customer, Distribution & Market Management, you will be responsible for managing and strengthening Zurich’s strategic relationships in Hong Kong & Macau and collaborate with colleagues across the Greater China region
  • You will be an integral part of the Commercial Insurance team, leading insights, external engagement and helping to lead the delivery and execution of our growth strategy within the Hong Kong business

 

Job Accountabilities

  • Develop an overarching view of Zurich’s broker & customer relationships including identifying the key strengths and gaps as well as outlining the focus growth segments.
  • Effectively manage customer & broker engagement around renewal and new business pipelines across key lines of business and key countries as relevant
  • Coordinate on major accounts and drive multi-line opportunities, cross-sell and engagement
  • Facilitate structured access to senior broking leaders through regular business review meetings, broker engagement forums and market events
  • Work closely with underwriting colleagues to ensure clear and timely communication around Zurich’s proposition, appetite, and underwriting strategies to the relevant broking teams and customers
  • Oversee the delivery of broker agreements including regular portfolio analysis and business reviews
  • Maintain and deliver broker dashboards to relevant internal stakeholders to enable strategic assessment of evolving broker relationships
  • Manage and deliver on risk management services opportunities for customers and Zurich partners

 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with significant insurance industry experience
  • Ideally over 7 years underwriting, broking or strategy related experience
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance business, products, and customer & distribution dynamics.
  • Experience in servicing multinational / complex accounts with large / key brokers a key advantage
  • Strong executive presence, with the proven ability to influence senior leaders internally and externally, including at the C-level
  • Experience in pipeline management and new business development, with an emphasis on analytics and data
  • Experience in engaging with the local market as well as act as a liaison for business from across Greater China, preferably from an underwriting / broking / strategy background
  • Strategic growth mindset with a focus on delivery and execution
  • Strong relationship management, people skills, and solution-oriented approach
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, collaboration skills, and ability to navigate ambiguity and manage change
  • Experience working in an international, multi-cultural environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Application including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
